Swedish Heavy Metal band Avatar just finished up their North American tour. The Pit Magazine was there to cover it and it just happened to be there last night on tour in the states. The Roxian Theatre in McKees Rocks PA hosted a killer event. When I showed up the venue, the line was about about 4 blocks long. I did not think that many people were going to fit in that 1400 capacity venue, but they did.

Avatar hit the stage a little after 10pm and they lit up the place starting with “ Dance Devil Dance” . The crowd was already getting pumped and by the fourth song “Chimp Mosh Pit”, the mosh pits and crowd surfing was beginning. Johannes and the guys know how to put on one hell of show. These guys are definitely on my top 10 bands list of concerts that I have gone to. A concert you don’t want to miss.

Avatar is out on tour now for support of their new album “ Dance Devil Dance” that was released in February 2023. There is eleven hard rocking tracks on this album including a duet with Izzy Hale titled “ Violence no Matter What”.

Band members are Johannes Eckerstrom (vocals), Jonas Jarlsby (guitar), John Alfredsson (drums), Henrik Sandelin (bass) and Tim Ohrstrom (guitar).
